"Just a little note to say thank you for your encouragement.
Thank you for helping me get over a bad experience at Planet Fitness. South Pointe is a lot better - it is more professional, more respectful, and quieter.
I am very happy at South Pointe and I get a better work out physically. They are very encouraging and supportive.
Thank you very much!"

"Today I had to cancel my membership due to relocating to Michigan. It was the last phone call I wanted to make and probably one of the hardest.
Roughly 10 months ago I made a decision that has dramatically improved my health and my well-being. I made the choice to exercise. I did not set a goal to lose weight. With one simple goal and the help of Chad Smith, Anita Binder, and the staff at South Pointe Fitness I achieved many goals and unexpected amazing results. Within 10 months, I have lost 70 pounds, ran my first 5K, participated in a Cycling event, reduced my blood pressure, found self-confidence, and met the most friendly and encouraging staff and trainers.
Our community is blessed to have such a fantastic group of people to assist with questions, concerns, nutrition, and overall friendliness. I want to thank each person and the South Pointe Fitness that has shown me that exercising is fun and enjoyable. To Anita, you are an amazing instructor with so much encouragement. Thank you for being so kind and welcoming. To Chad, your jokes, the stories, the teasing and most of all keeping it simple will never be forgotten.
You all will be greatly missed!"
All Around Perfect Club!
"South Pointe Fitness Club is AMAZING! I have been looking for a health club in the area for some time now and finally found the right fit. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted by friendly staff that were more than happy to answer all of my questions! The facility was clean and very inviting. I was given a tour and shown their state of the art equipment which was exactly what I needed to accomplish my goals. I appreciated the time/patience that was taken in the explanation of the health club, rather than the typical "get 'em signed" pitch. My decision to join was easy as they were having one of their promotional opportunities. I found their pricing was very affordable in this area. Every part of their contract was reviewed with me prior to me signing, which gave me a sense of comfort and allowed for any last minute questions.
Once the deal was done, I started toward my goal...with the help of their professional trainers and courteous staff! It wasn't hard to achieve given their selection of equipment AND many class choices! It was very difficult to schedule my day around their classes because I love all of them...except Pilates...YUCK! (It was not the instructor, it's me not yet able to twist myself into those positions!) The class instructors are so motivating and enthusiastic that I find myself upset when the hour long class is over!
The other reason I chose South Pointe Fitness Club is that they give back to the community. I have noticed their involvement in the Boonsboro Green Fest, the Boonsboro Athletic Boosters, charity runs/walks, just to name a few. It's refreshing to see a business participate locally given our tough economic times.
I have reached and surpassed my goal and continue on with South Pointe as satisfied as I was when I first began over a year ago. I highly recommend the fitness club to anyone looking for an affordable, friendly, state-of-the-art way to attain their goals. Happy 6th Anniversary South Pointe Fitness Club!"

The classes at SPFC have always been top-notch, but then I tried Boot Camp and it took my workout to a new level! Having such variety and great instructors with an inviting atmosphere gives you the best of all worlds.

Afraid of Bootcamp
I was afraid to join South Pointe Bootcamp because I was afraid everyone would be super-fit and that I wouldn't fit in. There were people of every level and they adjusted to fit everyones levels.
AND IT WAS A LOT OF FUN!
Julie, it is nice to hear that you feel comfortable in our fitness club. That is one of the most important things that we can offer, comfort. If you are not comfortable, you will not suceed.

Easy NOT to go the gym
It was easy not to go the gym..... With bootcamp, I found the motivation and drive to workout. The workouts were tougher than anything I would do by myself and I really enjoyed it!
I had a ruptured appendix in October 2009, it had been ruptured for a few days prior to my admission the hospital. My surgeon told me that the reason I survived this was because of my strong and healthy physical condition from my membership with South Pointe Fitness. Thanks South Pointe!
Thanks for the report Ann, we are so glad that your dedicated work-out has helped in your overall health.

Previous South Pointe Member Returns
I am a previous member of South Pointe Fitness Club who came back. I had actually considered joining the fitness club in town that is offering the $10.00 per month membership. I went and looked at this club. As a person who loves excitement and has high energy, I knew immediately that this club was not for me. I may as well just have equipment at my house and work out that way, and to sum it up... be bored. South Pointe Fitness Club, on the other hand, offers a wide variety of activities for all ages and all sizes. They have personal instruction and are interested in helping their members achieve their goals. They offer Happy Hour classes that are exciting and new...and best of all, they allow you to have flexibility in your schedule!!!
My favorite class is Zumba. I have had various instructors, but I do have to say that Starlene is fabulous!!! I have never had such fun in a class. She is vivacious, energetic and an all around "Star" !!!!!
THANK YOU for making South Pointe FitnessClub the club of choice.

Before and After - Melissa Thomas
Before and after..
Me at 195lbs (my biggest) - 2003. I saw a picture of myself and was horrified! I started walking 5 miles and then added working out at South Point Fitness Club in 2005. I quit smoking and added cycling, weight training, yoga, and regular walking to my agenda.
I feel much more active and happier than ever!!!
I have maintained my weight at 160 for 3 years and continue to work every day to stay strong.
I thought I was take classes until

" I am literally running for my life."-David Hartung
I am a 58 year old veteran of both Vietnam and the Persian Gulf Wars and retired from the US Army Reserve. Since joining South Pointe Fitness Club (SPFC) I have noticed a marked increase in my endurance and my health has greatly improved as a result. In fact, I have not missed a single day of work due to illness since joining SPFC. Since heart disease, diabetes, and stroke run in my family, I am literally running for my life. Recently I did a medical evaluation online conerning my health and lifestyle; I was happy to learn that my lifestyle, thanks much to my time here at SPFC, has added 8 years to my lifespan. I n other words, my health, constitution ,and shape makes me closer to one around 50 instead of a person chronologically equivalent to a person nearly 60! Joining SPFC has proved to be an excellent decision on my part which continues to pay excellent dividends both now and in the future.
Diane Hutzell's great success story
Last summer my daughter ask me to do boot camp with her, since I wanted to spend some time with her I decided to go. I have been trying to lose weight t for years, but only did the diet thing with no excerise. Going to bootcamp showed me that I really could run. which is something I thought I could not do. With the encouragment of the "sergeants" in bootcamp I was gently pushed to go the extra "mile" in all of the activities. I felt better than I had in years, but more importantly I proved to myself, that yes! I can do physical activities at age 54 and 216 lbs!
Next , at my daughter's request, I attended my first Zumba class with her and I loved it! I have always loved to dance and the loud music and Zumba/dance moves made me want to come back for more!
I try to attend Zumba 2 or 3 times a week. I give it my all and always walk out drenched in sweat, but what a great feeling.:) After working so hard it just gives me the feeling that " hey, I am going to watch what I eat" which basically means eating smaller portions and no fast food. I started bringing my lunch to work and I lost 10 pounds. Then I added kickboxing to my schedule and I love that too! The music really gives you that extra kick.
To date I have lost 30lbs and it was easy to do thanks to Zumba and kickboxing. There is just something motivating when you put on your Zumba shoes or hand weights.
Walking on the tread mill and using the machines is just not my thing. I am really looking forword to a hip hop class starting with more loud music and dance moves. I am hoping I will lose another 20 lbs, which is my next goal.

"Congratulations on your success at South Pointe Fitness Club. You have truly made a difference in the quality of the exercise programs by hiring very fine instructors and adding classes that are enjoyed by all.
Thank you, again.
P.S. I took the new "Stay Strong" class and loved it. Wow, what a great workout."

"Hi. I just wanted to comment on the new group exercises being offered at South Pointe Fitness. First, Zumba is a great workout. The music's poppin' and it's totally fun.
I also try to come in at least once a week for the Rep Reebok class. I came in last Sunday and was told that the class had been changed and was now called Stay Strong. My first thought, "Oh no!". I tried it, and it's fantastic. The instructor told the class that Heather created the Stay Strong exercises. So, thank you Heather. South Pointe has improved so much since you've taken over. Just in the group exercise department, South Pointe offers such a variety, not only of the exercises, but the days and times as well. You seem to have everyone's schedule in mind. You're continuously upgrading the club. Again, thanks for everything you do."
Stacy Kopp; South Pointe Member
"Boot Camp is for ANYONE and EVERYONE!! It doesn't matter what fitness level you're at. You go at your own pace, you can modify and the instructors are all very helpful and supportive. Awesome experience!"

"Thanks to South Pointe, I have lost over 80 lbs. in less than a year. A year ago, I was very ill, in fact they did not expect me to be alive this year. I joined the gym and with the help of the greatest staff in the world, I am almost at my goal plus my mental state is so much better. Between the staff and the other members, I have gotten my self esteem back and come out of the depression I was in. I couldn't be happier! The gym has made me a better, healthier, and well balanced person. Thanks everyone!"

"I was looking for something different to try. I felt like I was in a rut with my exercising, and this really helped me to get back into doing a routine. It was a great group of people that participated in both the morning and evening classes. I enjoyed the variety of circuit training we did. I groaned at the time, but I did enjoy the "Killer Legs" session. The instructors we had through the duration of the program were great. They were enthusiastic and did a lot to keep it from being repetitive. Each week, different types of programs were introduced. Over the course of 8 weeks, I did build my strength training which I was excited about. Above all, I learned different things that I could do on my own to help sustain my level of improved fitness. I would highly recommend Boot Camp for anyone/everyone. You can have any level of fitness and still get a great workout!"
